adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Loki has found a home! His story: Today, Loki introduces himself – a little puppy in this big world has packed his bags and is searching for his forever home! Together, the siblings Shazia, Amari, and Loki were placed in a cardboard box outside the public shelter. Fortunately, we found an immediate foster home where there are fewer puppies crammed together, and now the little babies are in safety. Loki stands out among the puppies, being the only truly colorful puppy with his beautiful tri-color coat. His personality is also simply wonderful, and he always shows himself to be clingy and affectionate with people. He is a friendly and playful male dog. At four months old, he currently weighs 4 kg. It is assumed that he will reach a small size when fully grown. He is friendly, curious about human contact, and gets along well with cats. The little boy still needs to get to know life outside his kennel. He is open and brave with new things, but Loki still has a lot to learn; he is not house-trained, cannot be left alone, and still needs to master the 1×1 of puppy training. For Loki, we wish for loving and active people who can also set boundaries for him. Loki is about to enter puberty, a very decisive phase in the life of a young puppy, and the hormone chaos will turn everything upside down. We wish for Loki to continue to develop well and need a positive and consistent guidance under which he learns to accept boundaries. With patient people by his side, this phase will become a very important one in his life, in which he will form strong bonds. Loki will make a great companion for various activities. A lively puppy, who, by his great fortune, still lacks one thing – his very own family, he has more than earned it! Loki comes microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas into his family. He brings an EU pet passport with him and will only be placed after a positive home visit. Many thanks to Britt! You have given Loki a name and thus an identity! Date: 15.03.

Vielen Dank an Britt! Stand: 15.03.2025

About Loki

What life with Loki looks like

Loki is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
