Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Dog Now! Loko didn’t have a happy start to life. Together with his brother, he lived on the property of an alcoholic man in a village near Bistrița. There, the puppies were neither cared for nor protected—in fact, they had to endure violence and neglect. Fortunately, they were discovered in time and brought to safety. Now, Loko is waiting eagerly to finally experience what love, security, and care feel like. Despite everything he’s already been through, Loko has retained his cheerful and loving nature. He meets people with exceptional friendliness and openness. He’s playful, curious, and thoroughly enjoys every bit of attention he receives. With his open and carefree demeanor, he quickly puts a smile on everyone’s face. He also gets along well with other dogs. Cats haven’t been tested yet. Visually, Loko is a particularly sweet little puppy with light-brown and white fur, large dark eyes, and adorable white paws. His loving gaze and fluffy appearance make him a real heartbreaker who immediately catches your eye. His new family should be aware that Loko has never experienced life in a loving home before. As a young puppy, he still has to learn the entire dog ABC and needs to be gradually introduced to everything. Leash manners, house training, and being left alone are completely new to him. He’s also about to enter puberty, during which he’ll test boundaries and might even “forget” what he’s already learned. Loko needs people who will accompany him with lots of love, patience, and understanding and give him the time he needs to settle into his new home. With clear structures, positive reinforcement, and fair, loving leadership, he’ll learn to trust and develop into a loyal and wonderful companion. A positively oriented dog school can provide valuable support here and help strengthen the bond between human and dog. Despite his sad past, Loko has never stopped trusting people. All he needs now is a family to show him that from now on, his life will be filled with love, safety, and security. After a successful pre-adoption check and payment of a protection fee, Loko will travel to his new home chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and equipped with an EU pet passport. Who will give this little fighter the chance at a happy life and a forever home? Many thanks to Jasmin—you’ve given Loko a name and thus the chance for a new life! Many thanks, Steffi Sch.! You’re supporting Loko with a monthly sponsorship! As of July 15, 2026 Further information on the topics of pre-adoption check and protection fee

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Loko hatte keinen schönen Start ins Leben. Vielen Dank an Jasmin. Vielen Dank Steffi Sch.! Du unterstützt Loko mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 15.07.2026 Weitere Informationen zum Thema Vorkontrolle und Schutzgebühr

About Loko

What life with Loko looks like

Loko is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
