Lola

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Gender: Female Age: Born around November 2020 (approximate estimated date) Size: Large (35 kg) Date of arrival at the shelter: July 2023 Spayed: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Compatibility: OK with dogs. OK with cats. Temperament: Sociable Progress: June 5, 2025: Top-notch dog! Very, very cuddly, OK with cats, dogs, and horses. She lacks self-confidence and needs extreme gentleness and an experienced person. She’s afraid of men, but her second favorite human—whom she completely trusts—is a man, so all is not lost! Be warned: she’s wonderful, but not to be placed in just anyone’s hands—really, she can bite if cornered and might run away if panicked. A family with another dog would be ideal. October 5, 2024: Lola knows how to be alone and handles absences of several hours well. She’s fine with other dogs, though like all dogs, she has her preferences (a bit more shy around very, very large dogs). She’s starting to learn how to play with balls. She tends to be a bit of a thief if food is left lying around. On walks, she can’t yet be off-leash, but she’s learning very quickly and is starting to walk nicely by your side. She’s a fabulous dog—very affectionate and extremely intelligent. She’s less comfortable with men than with women, but after spending some time with people, everything goes smoothly. She hasn’t been tested with children or cats yet. She currently weighs 35 kg (weighed yesterday at the vet’s office). She can sometimes be a bit rough and needs plenty of physical activity. She’s starting to learn basic commands like “sit” and “down,” and she loves giving herself fully to her training exercises. May 8, 2024: She’s very beautiful, very touching—it’s highly likely that she was beaten by her previous owners because she loves being petted and getting attention, yet at the same time she’s scared and flees from contact, crying—her heart breaks. Late September 2023: Quickly becomes affectionate; surely more afraid of men. She arrived thin and isn’t gaining weight yet. At the shelter, she was fearful upon arrival (mid-July 2023). History: She was abandoned because her family has a young child and they were worried she wouldn’t get along with him—even though she’d never done anything to him... They also have a small dog that, strangely enough, they didn’t decide to abandon... Spayed: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Compatibility: OK with dogs, OK with cats Temperament: October 5, 2024: Lola knows how to be alone and handles absences of several hours well. Sexe : femelle Âge : née environ en novembre 2020 (date estimée approximative) Taille : grande (35 kg) Date d'arrivée au refuge : juillet 2023 Stérilisée : oui Vaccinée : oui Pucée : oui Ententes : ok chiens. Ok chat.

About Lola

What life with Lola looks like

Lola is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
