Lola

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 5 months

Lola is a beautiful young Laika-type dog. She arrived at the shelter very stressed and couldn't adjust to her new reality. Her strong fear caused her to exhibit aggressive behavior due to feeling threatened. Despite the difficult start, it was immediately clear that she has a huge potential for work. Character: Lola is an extremely sensitive and delicate dog who needs time to trust and feel safe. She still feels most comfortable in her kennel and in new situations often chooses withdrawal over confrontation. At the same time, she has made huge progress. She easily allows herself to be put on a collar, willingly goes out with her caregiver, and is getting better at navigating daily activities. Lola enjoys walks and everyday life and happily uses larger enclosures where she can move freely and explore her surroundings. She is a young, active dog who will derive great joy from going for walks and discovering the world with the right caregiver. Food motivation works well with her, thanks to which she is willing to cooperate and learn new things. Relationships with people: She will do best with a calm, patient person who respects her pace and doesn't put pressure on her. She still remains a sensitive dog, so we don't recommend her for a home with children. We are looking for a caregiver who has at least basic experience working with dogs and will be able to support her in building her confidence. Home: Due to her needs, she will do best in a home with a garden. She can live in a properly prepared and well-secured outdoor kennel. She needs a place where no one will expect her to trust immediately, but will appreciate every, even the smallest, step forward. Lola is the best proof of how much patience and the right approach can change. In the right home, she has the chance to develop further and explore the world more and more bravely every day. Weight: 19kg Collar: yes Relationship with other dogs: positive She has been spayed, dewormed, de-fleaed, vaccinated, chipped, registered in the Safe Animal database. She is located at: Funny Pets Shelter in Czartki Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, łódzkie voivodeship 43 828 36 46 - general

Lola to przepiękna, młoda sunia w typie łajki. About Lola

What life with Lola looks like

Lola is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
