Lolo

Lolo - a Breton heart full of joy Lolo is a young Breton Spaniel - full of energy, zest for life and warmth of the heart. Anyone who meets him immediately feels his infectious joy: he greets everyone kindly, loves to play and enjoys every minute in human company. Lolo has this special gift of spreading good mood with his open, joyful nature. However, his start in life was anything but easy. Lolo was abandoned and eventually rescued - yet instead of withdrawing, he has preserved his trust and sunny disposition. He is a dog that does not look back, but looks to the future with an open heart. Typical of a Breton, Lolo needs people who appreciate his active, sensitive and intelligent nature. He wishes for a home where he is not only physically challenged - for example through long walks, shared adventures or nose work - but also emotionally belongs. Bretons are family dogs through and through: they love closeness, are affectionate and want to be always by your side. What Lolo most wishes for is therefore not complicated at all - a place in the heart and life of his humans. In return, he gives what makes him special: joy, loyalty and a love that is sincere and unconditional. Lolo was diagnosed with Leishmaniosis. It is a parasitic disease transmitted by the sandfly, which is native to southern countries. This particular fly, as a so-called intermediate host, is responsible for transmission; direct transmission of the parasites from dog to dog or dog to human has not been proven. Not all dogs that are positive for Leishmaniosis actually become sick. Leishmaniosis is not curable, but it is well controllable, today very differentiated treatable and we will gladly advise you on this. If you are ready to give Lolo a suitable life, contact his foster carer. Even having a temporary foster home would already be very helpful for him.

About Lolo

What life with Lolo looks like

Lolo is a young adult dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lolo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lolo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lolo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lolo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lolo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lolo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lolo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
