Lolo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Lolo, a male dog, lives in one of our kennels. Despite the shelter's life not being kind to him, he still has a curiosity about the world and a small hope for a better tomorrow. His path to trust is through treats, kind words, and patient presence. Who is this dog for? This boy is not looking for a superhero - he's looking for someone who understands that trust is not something you get right away. He needs an empathetic, calm, patient caregiver who is willing to work with positive methods even in the shelter. At the moment, Lolo is not able to leave the kennel on a leash. We are looking for someone who will not have expectations from day one, but will give him time, space, and support so he can decide when to approach and put his head on your lap. Someone with experience would be ideal, but someone who can listen... also to what the dog can't say yet, will do just fine. What are we looking for? We are looking for a peaceful home - preferably with a garden, because walking on a leash is still too difficult for this gentleman. Silence, routine, and no pressure are things that will help him find his way. A home without small children, but with a lot of understanding and calmness - that's his dream. What's worth knowing about him? Born in 2020, he lived more beside people than with them for a long time. Initially cautious, he is slowly opening up. Today, he greets familiar caregivers by wagging his tail, chases treats around the kennel, loves to search for hidden treats and work out kongs. He already knows the "sit" command quite well, and his favorite activity is... contact with a human, but only when he decides to approach them. We are working on accepting the collar and leash - it's a long and difficult process, because past experiences have left their mark. After one of the attempts to put on a leash, he fell into a strong stress - it was clear that something very bad was associated with this gesture. That's why we know that we have to act differently, more calmly, with even greater understanding. This is a dog who doesn't need to be "fixed" - he just needs space to be able to believe in himself again. And someone who will be with him when he does. PL·Show original

W jednym z naszych kojców mieszka Lolo. Pracujemy nad akceptacją obroży i smyczy – to proces długi i trudny, bo doświadczenia z przeszłości pozostawiły ślady. About Lolo

What life with Lolo looks like

Lolo is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Frequently asked

Adopting Lolo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lolo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lolo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lolo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lolo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lolo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lolo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
