adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this dog now! Lonny has three brothers; currently, the four of them live together in a “boys’ shared apartment” consisting of him and his siblings Fito, Cheewy, and Subwoofer. Their mother gave birth to them in the yard of an elderly lady, but due to her age, she couldn’t care for them. The mother was neutered to prevent future pregnancies. Lonny is the only one among his brothers who is almost entirely black, which already lends him a certain elegance at such a young age. He only has small white markings on his chin and paws. He will likely grow to a medium size. This little furball has an extremely open, friendly, and affectionate personality. True to his age, he loves romping and playing with his brothers. He’s also curious and enjoys exploring his surroundings on short walks. We believe Lonny is a Terrier mix, probably with some German Shepherd ancestry. His appearance and behavior suggest a lively, attentive, and eager-to-learn combination. Terriers are often known for their curiosity and playfulness, while German Shepherds are renowned for their intelligence and strong bonding ability. Accordingly, this puppy could develop into an active companion who needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Consistent, loving training will be essential to help him reach his full potential. His new family should also keep in mind that Lonny has not yet experienced life in a loving home—he still needs to learn all the basics of puppyhood. He’ll need people who approach his training with plenty of love and patience. Leash walking, housebreaking, and being left alone are still completely foreign concepts to him. As additional support, attending positively reinforced dog training classes would be wonderful. Not only will you both learn a great deal there, but you’ll also grow closer as a team and strengthen your bond. Should Lonny soon bring life and joy to your home? Then please don’t hesitate to get in touch! Of course, we’d also be thrilled if he could first have the chance to settle in with a foster home. Naturally, he comes with his EU pet passport. Many thanks, dear Claudia D.! Thanks to you, Lonny not only received a lovely name but also the chance for a home of his own. As of: 05.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 05.05.2026

About Lonny

What life with Lonny looks like

Lonny is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
