Loona (vermittelt)

Female · Senior · 14 years

Regarding the ages mentioned here, they are often estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other information like size is subjective. Loona Born June 2012, female, neutered, breed Terrier Mix, size small. Foster home Loona has already moved into her new home. Unfortunately, due to a technical mishap, all photos were lost…. But thanks to the adopters and intensive research, we were able to find some again or new ones were sent to us. Many thanks to the adopters, she is our little sunshine. Although she hasn't experienced much beauty so far, she is a loving, uncomplicated female dog. She lives with four other dogs and cats at the shelter and gets along well with everyone. She plays with the puppies and accepts her position in the pack with the adult dogs. So very social and also suitable as a second dog. At first, she is a bit shy, but warms up quickly and finds cuddles totally awesome. She wants to be very close to "her" person, is very attentive, clever, and eager to learn. Sometimes she is a real chatterbox and jumps and runs to her heart's content, but without being totally overexcited. She is house-trained and travels in the car without any problems. In the house, she is quiet. Outdoors, Loona shows a bit of insecurity and always stays close to the pack. Who gives this little treasure a second chance and a great home? She has really earned it. About Loona (vermittelt)

What life with Loona (vermittelt) looks like

Loona (vermittelt) is a small senior dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loona (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loona (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loona (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loona (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loona (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loona (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loona (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
