Lora

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

* December 2016 | 45cm | 19kg | animal shelter Rhodos Lora is a somewhat older female dog who has never lost her joyfulness and positive nature in the animal shelter. Despite her age, she exudes incredible energy and enthusiasm. Her highlight is when her caretaker comes and plays with her, gives her attention, and takes care of her. As soon as she hears her caretaker's voice, Lora transforms and runs around like a young female dog. One can literally see the joy radiating from her, especially in her wide grin. She also gets along well with other dogs. She is a great beginner dog who quickly adapts to new situations and gets along well with her fellow animals. Despite her age, Lora is still playful and curious about the world around her. She enjoys being outside, running, and playing. Lora is a true sunshine in the animal shelter and brings joy with her positive energy to the staff and other animals. She shows that one can still be full of enthusiasm in old age and that it's never too late to be happy. Adopting Lora means not only getting a loyal companion but also a source of endless joy and love. PAW HEROES e.V. Email: © 2022 PAW HEROES e.V. – All Rights Reserved.

PAW HEROES e.V. E-Mail: © 2022 PAW HEROES e.V. – All Rights Reserved.

About Lora

What life with Lora looks like

Lora is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at og:image in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. og:image handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — og:image will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with og:image early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
