Lord Fauntleroy

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Our Lord has found a new home! His story: 80997 München. A little Lord is waiting there for his family's visit! Our Lord Fauntleroy is very loving and people-oriented and wants to be part of all activities. Puppy-like (depending on the time of day), he is either playful or sleepy. Generally, he is a balanced character, rarely overly excited or hyper. He is friendly and open to strangers and dogs, meeting them with curiosity. After some small accidents in the first two days, our Lord is now house-trained. When he needs to go, he heads towards the door and makes a noise – sometimes you have to be quick. At night, he sleeps in the dog crate in the living room and sleeps from around 22:00 until 07:00 in the morning, signaling when it's time for his morning walk in the garden. He goes into the crate problem-free and devours his midday meal with great joy, a Kong filled with dry food and yogurt – or a snack in between. He loves chew bones and has been eating dry food so far. Generally, he is very "food-motivated," so for a treat, he will do anything. During walks, we haven't encountered so many dogs yet, but during encounters, they politely sniffed each other and no further problems arose. Traveling in the crate is no problem for Lord Faunterleroy. He lies down quietly during the ride and enjoys his snack. The little Lord is currently about 40 cm tall and weighs 11 kg. We assume he will reach a medium adult size. Since the little Lord lives in a foster home, he is already familiar with life in the house, although it's important not to forget that he is still a puppy and needs to learn the dog ABC. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascal's life upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned so far, and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to consistently – but lovingly – train. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! A visit to a positively working dog training class is certainly enriching for both human and dog after an adjustment period. Lord Fauntleroy is already vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas with his EU pet passport in his travel bag. He will be rehomed for an adoption fee of 450 Euro. Does Lord Fauntleroy also make your heart race? He looks forward to a visit at his foster home at any time. Thanks, Silvie S.! You gave Lord Fauntleroy his name and thus his identity.

About Lord Fauntleroy

What life with Lord Fauntleroy looks like

Lord Fauntleroy is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lord Fauntleroy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lord Fauntleroy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lord Fauntleroy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lord Fauntleroy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lord Fauntleroy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lord Fauntleroy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lord Fauntleroy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
