Lorena

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 2 months

Lorena ID No.: 147013 Breed: EKH Age: 04/2021 Sex: female Housing: indoor cat Neutered/Sterilized: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Lorena arrived at the animal shelter in summer 2021 together with her sisters Nerea, Claudia, and Laura. They were only about 2 months old at the time. All three are very fearful, but Lorena is the most timid of the three. She doesn’t allow anyone to approach her and immediately runs away. We know how difficult it is for cats like her to find a home—especially since she is “just” black. Nevertheless, even such furry friends deserve a loving home! Lorena definitely needs experienced cat owners who can give her all the time in the world and provide plenty of safe hiding spots. Because she is very social, she absolutely needs other cats around her. Ideally, a friendly, human-oriented cat from whom Lorena could learn a few things. Of course, she could also bring along a companion from the animal shelter. By the way, her sisters are still looking for a home as well. Due to her fearfulness, outdoor access wouldn't be an option for now, but she would surely enjoy a secure balcony. Lorena is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Vaccinations: Yes, plus €85.00 transport fee Contact person: Andrea Mürner Phone: Email:

About Lorena

What life with Lorena looks like

Lorena is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lorena, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lorena?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lorena on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lorena if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lorena already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lorena isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lorena and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
