Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Puppy Β· 4 months

LorΓ©na is a mixed-breed female dog approximately 4 months old, who was taken in together with her siblings and mother at our Hungarian partner shelter. Her mother lived as a stray in a vineyard area for many years and had puppies there repeatedly. Consequently, the dogs had hardly gathered any positive experiences with humans and came to us very insecure. Thanks to loving care, LorΓ©na is now making great progress. In the puppy group, she is becoming braver day by day, plays joyfully with the other dogs, and begins to build trust with her trusted people. She meets people curiously and approaches us more and more on her own. LorΓ©na is expected to grow into a larger, long-legged female dog. We wish for her a patient home that gives her the time to get to know the world at her own pace. With loving guidance, she will develop into a loyal and wonderful companion.

DEΒ·Show original

About Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί

What life with Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί looks like

Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. in Biedenkopf.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺAdopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lorena ♀ πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
