Adopt Lorraine

Labrador Retriever · Female · Young · 3 years

29-05-26 Lorraine is a worried lady who has come to us from a breeder to begin her search for a loving forever home. She is feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment and will need plenty of kindness, patience and TLC as she starts to adjust to her new surroundings. Despite her worries, Lorraine is already showing us what a sweet soul she is, and we are beginning to see lovely little glimpses of the wonderful dog she is going to become. She is happy to accept gentle fusses from people she is beginning to trust. Lorraine is looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace with adopters who will give her all the time and reassurance she needs. She would really benefit from adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who understand that building confidence can take time. She relies on other dogs for comfort and confidence, so Lorraine will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog around her size or larger in her new home to help guide and reassure her. As she has never lived in a home before, Lorraine will need understanding adopters who can help her learn all about home life, including new skills like house training. She will also need to learn all about walking on a lead and harness, practicing first in the garden until she gains confidence to venture further. Lorraine is a gentle and lovely girl who deserves a patient family willing to help her blossom into the happy dog she was always meant to be, so please don't leave her waiting.

About Lorraine

What life with Lorraine looks like

Lorraine is a young adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lorraine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lorraine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lorraine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lorraine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lorraine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lorraine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lorraine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
