Lotte

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Lotte was born in June 2026 and currently measures about 22 cm. She is expected to reach a medium size of around 50 cm when fully grown. She is allowed to grow up protected and sheltered together with her sisters in a shelter. The young female dog shows herself as a cheerful explorer who views her environment with great curiosity. She approaches the people around her openly and friendly and collects new impressions every day. Of course, at her age, the typical puppy mischief cannot be missing. Lotte is in an exciting development phase where she explores the world and gradually learns what is allowed and what is not. Therefore, she is looking for people who stand by her side with patience, consistency and a portion of humor. Lotte has not yet known life as a family dog. She will have to get to know the many new sounds, processes and impressions of a household step by step. Topics such as house training, walking on a leash or relaxed being alone are still part of her learning program. Especially being alone should be slowly and carefully built up after a sufficient acclimatization period. We wish Lotte a loving home or a foster home where she can arrive at her own pace and receive the necessary security. Anyone who enjoys accompanying a young dog on his way through life will be rewarded with a loyal friend who is full of joie de vivre and has many years together ahead of him. Lotte is vaccinated and chipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary inspection. Due to her age, she is not yet spayed. Departure possible from now! General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so that we can reassess their behavior and development again and again. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a possibly good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new processes and new impressions - can also show itself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs even open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should give an orientation and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Lotte

What life with Lotte looks like

Lotte is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lotte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lotte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lotte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lotte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lotte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lotte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lotte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
