Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Lou (beige): born around 12/2022, approx. 30 cm; Leni (brown with a dark mask): born around 10/2025, approx. 25 cm (as of 03/05/2026), both are neutered/spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped before travel arrangements, tested for babesiosis, borreliosis, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. About Lou & Leni – an inseparable pair: Lou and Leni are mother and daughter who lived with humans at a house in Romania, protecting it with loud barking. When one of our animal rescuers drove into this impoverished neighborhood to look for the people who had abandoned puppies in a tied-up sack a few days earlier, she didn't find them but returned home with Lou in her luggage. Lou's owners wanted to get rid of her because she kept giving birth to puppies. What a miracle for an unspayed female dog… Lou, who had loudly barked at our rescuer while at the house, was completely transformed when in her care: absolutely friendly, clingy, and cuddly. When she sees her rescuer, she immediately comes up to her happily and greets her enthusiastically. Three days later, the owners also gave Leni to our rescuer, as Leni is also a female dog who would soon produce offspring… For Leni, it was a stroke of luck and a great joy to reunite with her mother. Leni is initially reserved with strangers and needs some time to build trust. But once the ice is broken, she is as clingy and cuddly as her mother Lou. She follows Lou everywhere and learns from her. That's why it didn't take long for Leni to trust her rescuer. She only needed to watch her mom… Leni tries to avoid men, which requires more patience. However, she has no problems with the foster mother's son, a schoolchild. Both get along wonderfully with other puppies and small dogs and love to play with all of them. They also accept the house tomcat. Since Lou & Leni are a well-coordinated team and Mama Lou gives Leni security, we are looking for a shared home for this sweet pair with loving and patient people. A foster home would also be welcome. Lou & Leni are still in Romania.

About Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar

What life with Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar looks like

Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SOS-Strassentiere e.V. in Berlin-Köpenick.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS-Strassentiere e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS-Strassentiere e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS-Strassentiere e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lou & Leni – ein unzertrennliches Paar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
