Loucia

European Shorthair · Female · Senior · 14 years

A retirement basket for Loucia, a lovely 14-year-old grandma. Loucia arrived at the shelter in a sad state. And yet, despite everything she has experienced, she has lost none of her sweetness. This adorable little cat craves human contact, petting, and affection. She is a very sweet, endearing, and tender grandma who only wants to love and be loved. At 14, Loucia has some health issues. She suffers from chronic stomatogingivitis and receives a cortisone injection every 1-2 months to allow her to eat normally, both dry food and wet food. She also sometimes urinates outside her litter box due to spraying. A closed litter box would therefore be ideal to facilitate daily cleanliness. Today, Loucia deserves more than ever to leave the shelter to finally experience the warmth of a home, a cozy basket, and a lot of love for her retirement. Who will be the kind soul ready to offer her the sweet end of life she deserves? If you want to welcome Loucia, contact the shelter at 063/22.17.54. And if you can't adopt her, share her post as much as possible. Each share can be the one that will allow her to finally meet her family.

About Loucia

What life with Loucia looks like

Loucia is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at SRPA Arlon.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loucia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loucia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SRPA Arlon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loucia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loucia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SRPA Arlon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loucia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loucia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SRPA Arlon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loucia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
