Adopt Louie (m)

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Our LOUIE is waiting in Romania for his people – people who will finally show him how wonderful a home can be. The handsome male dog is approximately 50 cm tall and was born around September 2025. Found together with his brother, they were completely on their own in a hole on a field. A vigilant lady discovered the two little brothers in time and informed a local animal welfare association in Romania, which could take in the dogs. Today, LOUIE lives with the organization Ador in Botoșani. When our German colleagues were on site, LOUIE immediately caught their attention – exactly one of those puppies often overlooked as cubs and then simply "falling in line" as the next cubs arrive. LOUIE, however, charmed everyone with his lively nature. As soon as someone enters his pen, he is overjoyed, jumps around excitedly, and can't figure out where to put his happiness. Despite his dreary everyday life in the pen, he has preserved his cheerful nature. With hands and cuddles, he is still a bit cautious – simply because he never had the chance to get to know people properly. The people on site have little time to devote themselves to each individual dog, especially not to the more shy souls. LOUIE is not afraid of people. He seems more unsure about what human proximity actually means. When he is stroked, he doesn't know what to do with his feelings – and then he jumps around the place with joy again. Making photos of him is actually not so easy – staying still is simply not an option for our sunshine. Who will finally give our joyful LOUIE the chance at a home of his own? LOUIE is neutered, vaccinated multiple times, dewormed, microchipped, and of course in possession of an EU passport. Contact: LOUIE will be rehomed through Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. – with The organization naturally has the §11 (Animal Welfare Act) in place. Even after adoption, we will continue to support you – for both human and animal. LOUIE will travel to Germany and arrive in 91278 Pottenstein, where he is also to be picked up. There is a secured premises available.

Heute lebt LOUIE beim Verein Ador in Botoșani.

About Louie (m)

What life with Louie (m) looks like

Louie (m) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Louie (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Louie (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Louie (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Louie (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Louie (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Louie (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Louie (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
