Lua *RESERVIERT*

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

🐾 Lua – an uncut diamond with potential Lua is a large, beautiful female dog with a special presence and an equally special personality. She is very well tolerated by other dogs and brings a gentle, friendly energy. Growing up in the animal shelter from a young age, she has only known this protected environment. However, she is still young enough to adapt and find her place in the "right life" – with the right people by her side. 🌿 Outdoors, she blossoms. Inside the animal shelter, Lua shows a fearful and sensitive side. In nature, she relaxes, orienting herself well to people and enjoying being stroked. There, she shows her positive, gentle side – and that’s where her great potential is seen. At home, she is quiet and secure. She can also be left alone for hours and adapts well to a clear, calm structure. However, she much prefers to be out in the open – nature does her good. 🏡 What she needs • A quiet, stable home • Rural surroundings • A securely fenced garden (a dream for her) • Sovereign, calm people with patience • Ideally, a stable male dog for orientation • Quiet dog training classes or accompanying training As a house dog for people who are not often outdoors, we do not see her. She needs nature, security, and clear guidance – without pressure, but with calmness and reliability. Older, sensible children would be a good match. Lua is fundamentally gentle. With growing security, she is likely to develop a natural alertness. In Lua lies incredible potential. She is no "ready-made" dog – but an uncut diamond. Those who are willing to give her time will be rewarded with a deeply loyal companion. 💚 STEVE SHEET Since December 21, 2025, in the animal shelter. Age: June 4, 2020. Breed: Mixed breed. Gender: Female, neutered. Origin: Portugal. Surrender reason: Animal welfare. Testing required with cats/kittens. Unknown with children. Suitable as a second dog. Lua out and about. Gets along with other dogs.

In Lua steckt unglaublich viel. About Lua *RESERVIERT*

What life with Lua *RESERVIERT* looks like

Lua *RESERVIERT* is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lua *RESERVIERT*, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lua *RESERVIERT*?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lua *RESERVIERT* on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lua *RESERVIERT* if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lua *RESERVIERT* already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lua *RESERVIERT* isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lua *RESERVIERT* and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
