Lucky &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 21 years

Siam * 15.04.2005 – seal point – male – neutered suitable for apartment living compatibility with others with fellow animals unknown Other: — in the animal shelter since: 07/2024 Lucky had unfortunately the great misfortune to lose his home at the age of 19, where he had lived since he was a child, as his owner had to return to the country and could not take him with her. We are very happy that we were able to find a foster home for Lucky directly, so that he was spared an stay in the animal shelter. If he feels well at the foster home and everything works out, he may be able to spend his twilight years there. Since the animal shelter still bears the costs for his care and veterinary treatments, we would be very grateful if kind people would find a way to take on a sponsorship for him to help us a little. About Lucky &#8211

What life with Lucky &#8211 looks like

Lucky &#8211 is a large senior mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Göppingen in Göppingen.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucky &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucky &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Göppingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucky &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucky &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Göppingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucky &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucky &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Göppingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucky &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
