Lucky

Collie · Male · Puppy

Lucky is a lovely, nervous young puppy who is looking for a patient and understanding forever home where he can build confidence at his own pace. He will enjoy an active lifestyle with plenty of walks, playtime, enrichment and opportunities to use his clever little brain. He is still learning about the world and can be unsure of new people, places and experiences, so he will need someone who is prepared to give him time, reassurance and plenty of positive experiences. Behind his nerves is a sweet puppy who has so much potential. Lucky would thrive with an owner who understands that confidence doesn't happen overnight and who will celebrate his small achievements along the way. A calm, predictable home and gentle, reward-based training will help him feel safe and learn that the world is a wonderful place. Could you be Lucky's forever home? Lucky's ideal home: - Patient, calm and experienced with nervous or sensitive dogs. - Able to provide plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment. - Can live with calm children 8+ who understand he needs time and space at times. (This could be lowered slightly based on experience) - Can live with well matched dogs. - Will need a secure and private garden with 6ft fencing. - Can be left alone for short periods of time.

About Lucky

What life with Lucky looks like

Lucky is a small puppy/kitten collie dog waiting at RSPCA Coventry and District Branch in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Coventry and District Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Coventry and District Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Coventry and District Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
