Adopt Lucky

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 20 years

Meet our new foster cat. This is Lucky. Lucky is about 5 months old. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, healthy, and tests for FIV/FELV are negative. He nicely uses the litter box, but more importantly, he values human company rather than food. He gladly plays with other cats. This kitten came from a colony near the basilica, which was caught for sterilization some time ago... Ania and Adam, who feed this colony and catch them for procedures, generously lent DT for Lucki. He was the only one of all of them who didn't come just for food, for him, human presence was a priority. The only one who didn't rush to the bowls but jumped on the window and waited... as if waiting for an opportunity when the window opened and he could get in. Now we know that he's a total sweetheart; before eating he asks for a portion of petting and purrs requesting touch. He plays with Tosi, a resident, and often comes to rest on the knees... Tosi even gave him her soft quilted blanket on the windowsill where he lounges. So we are looking for a home for Lucki. The home should be loving and safe, meaning not going out. It would be good if there was a kitten in the home with which Lucky could play. We don't know the kitten's relationship with dogs and children. Before adoption, Lucky will be additionally vaccinated. Those interested are asked to fill out the questionnaire, which I will answer. Remember, house cats can live up to 20 years, so it's worth carefully thinking about adopting a new family member. If you want to adopt an animal because your children want it, don't fill out the questionnaire and don't call. The animal is a living being, and we take full responsibility for its life and health.

About Lucky

What life with Lucky looks like

Lucky is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią in Poland.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
