Lucky

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Peace and quiet, little Lucky… His story: Lucky was given to our team in Romania in a comatose state. After lying in a coma for two days and everyone fighting for his life, he proved to have a great fighting heart and has come back to strength. Currently, he still has some difficulties walking, but it looks as though he could fully recover. He is even already able to play and jump. He has thus already shown a great development. At the moment, he is still receiving several treatments to support and strengthen his neurological functions. Unfortunately, his past experiences have not passed by Lucky the small male dog without a trace. Therefore, we are looking for experienced owners who are familiar with traumatized dogs and are willing to give Lucky a lot of patience. Due to his traumatic experiences, he reacts very fearfully when meeting new people and even tries to bite when they come too close. However, he quickly trusts those who are familiar to him and is already being fed and stroked by a person after just a few hours. It is therefore important to take Lucky's fears seriously and give him enough time to get used to meeting new people. With his small size, he is the perfect companion in many life situations. He is distinguished by his light brown fur with a white spot on his face and large ears. For Lucky, travel arrangements are expected to be possible by the end of October. Who has a safe and loving place for him free and gives him a new home so that he can finally leave his terrible past behind? At four years old, he has already gone through puberty. Nevertheless, several challenges will certainly await the new human-dog team. He needs people who approach him with love and patience, give him time to settle in, and forgive him one or two mishaps. A visit to dog training classes can also be a meaningful addition after a certain period of getting used to it. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign words to Lucky. He will test his limits and may possibly forget some things he has learned. But after overcoming this phase, he will undoubtedly become a wonderful lifelong companion. We hope so much that he can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for him. Lucky is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings an EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience! We would also be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet boy! Who gives him a loving forever home? Many thanks to Annette! You gave Lucky his name. Status: 04.10. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden, kleiner Lucky… Vielen Dank an Annette! Du hast Lucky seinen Namen geschenkt. About Lucky

What life with Lucky looks like

Lucky is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
