Lucky

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Placement Requirements Placement Process Request this Animal Now! Lucky has found his forever home. Lucky is a lovable little male dog, approximately 4 years old, whose fluffy appearance immediately wins hearts. Particularly charming is his soft, cuddly coat, which with just a bit of grooming will surely shine even more. Standing about 35 cm tall, Lucky is one of the smaller dogs and thus makes a wonderful companion for many life situations. Lucky was brought to the shelter by the Animal Police. Yet, for such a tiny fellow, this place is anything but ideal. It’s loud, hectic, and exhausting—a place where a sensitive soul simply cannot find true peace and quiet. At first, little Lucky is a bit shy, yet always friendly and gentle. He gets along well with other dogs and interacts with them in a social and harmonious manner. We wish for Lucky a patient and loving family who will give him time to settle in and build trust—people who can show him step by step that everything unfamiliar can eventually become familiar. With the right support, Lucky will surely become ever braver and discover just how wonderful life can be. A calm home, a soft bed, caring hands, and shared little adventures would help him finally blossom. Attending a positively oriented dog training school could also be a wonderful companion on his journey. Lucky travels to Germany neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated—and of course, he’ll bring his EU pet passport with him. After a positive pre-check and upon payment of a protection fee, Lucky may move into his new home. Who will give this lovable little male dog the chance at a safe and secure home? Many thanks to Katharina F. for naming him. For further information on the pre-check process and the protection fee, please see here.

About Lucky

What life with Lucky looks like

Lucky is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
