Lucy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Lucy is a spayed, vaccinated, chipped medium-sized female dog, approximately 2 years old. We rescued her from a shelter where she was in great danger and was scheduled for euthanasia. She is now safe at our shelter, waiting for someone to adopt her as a family member. Due to her sad fate, she has not received much love so far, and we rescued her in a very poor condition, thin and abandoned. Therefore, we are looking for a caregiver who can teach her, play with her, and give her lots of love. She was initially shy, but she has become more open. She likes to play, run around, and be close to people. She is a very sweet and nice type. Her relationship with dogs is good, and she is currently living with several dogs and is constantly meeting new dogs at our shelter. She is not a barker, only when she has a reason, she is a young playful dog, but she does not have a high exercise need, she likes to relax in the armchair and in the yard. We are looking for a loving owner, it would be ideal in a house, it would be best with another dog, she likes the company of puppies, it is just a matter of getting used to each other, she can be adopted with a contract. Please support our work so that we can help more little orphans!

About Lucy

What life with Lucy looks like

Lucy is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány in Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lucy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
