Lulu

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Lulu - young puppy seeks people for the big adventure of life Lulu came together with her sisters Lily and Lola in January at only two weeks old to the Spanish animal shelter. At this age, puppies are completely dependent on care - without their mother, this means intensive round-the-clock attention, warmth, regular feeding and a lot of human involvement. Unfortunately, one of the siblings was too weak and did not make it. It is all the more beautiful that Lulu and her sisters have grown into healthy, strong puppies thanks to the loving and selfless care of their foster family. Today, Lulu shows herself as a young dog should be at this age: cheerful, curious, playful and full of energy. She explores her surroundings, seeks company and gradually begins to learn about life in a home environment. Although this phase seems so sweet and carefree - it is only the beginning. Lulu still has to learn everything a dog needs for later life: housebreaking, everyday noises, walking on a leash, being alone and a secure way of dealing with new situations. Since the parent animals are unknown, it is not possible to accurately predict her future size. However, based on current impression, it is assumed that Lulu could one day be medium to large. A puppy is not only cute for the moment, but means responsibility, time and patience over many years. The first months are formative and require a lot of support, consistent loving education and the willingness to go through even more demanding developmental phases such as puberty. Therefore, we wish for people who are aware of this task and do not take Lulu in just because of her current puppy age, but are ready to accompany her through life in the long term. Anyone who wants to take this path gets the wonderful chance to accompany a young dog from the beginning as it grows and to grow together with her. If you are aware of what comes with adopting a shelter dog and have fallen for the rescue dog, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very grateful for the provision of a foster home! Here is Lulu's video

About Lulu

What life with Lulu looks like

Lulu is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lulu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lulu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lulu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lulu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lulu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lulu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lulu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
