How do I contact the shelter about Lumi?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lumi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Lumi if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Lumi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Lumi isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lumi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Lumi is waiting for a virtual caregiver. Name: Lumi Breed: Mix Birth: 2024 Gender: Female Size: Medium Weight: 17 kg LUMI IS LOOKING FOR HER PERMANENT HOME Lumi came to us from the area of Błonie. From the very beginning, she shows that despite what she has been through, there is still a lot of joy in her heart. She is a cheerful, playful and full of life female dog who loves playing, pranks and having fun together. It's hard not to smile when she's around! However, Lumi dreams of something much more important than another toy or a moment of play - she dreams of her own person who will love her forever. A home where she will be safe, loved and important. Her joy is beautiful, but behind that cheerful face is a small creature that needs patience, care and closeness from a human. We want her story to end with a real home this time. Lumi is waiting for someone who won't walk past her. Maybe it's you? DO NOT BUY - ADOPT! A DOG THAT ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS COVERED BY A 14-DAY QUARANTINE. If the owner doesn't pick him up during this time, the dog will be: vaccinated, chipped, neutered and we will look for a new caregiver for him. The condition for adoption is filling out the questionnaire available on our website, agreeing to a pre/post-adoption visit, signing an adoption contract. About Lumi

What life with Lumi looks like

Lumi is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
