Adopt Luminée

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 5 years

Identified by microchip Type: European Color: Brown tabby and white - Coat: short spayed Tested FIV (AIDS) - FELV (Feline Leukemia) negative Vaccinated for Typhus and cat flu Health: All is well at the shelter I am Luminée, a shy little cat, arrived at the shelter with my two kittens who were six months old. We were all three very impressed by this new environment, lost, silent, always on edge. My kittens hid behind me, and me... I did my best to reassure them, even though I was also very scared. Read more... Over time, my kittens grew, gained confidence, and once separated from me, they were able to open up to the world. They learned to relax, accept pets, and eventually each found a family for life. I'm happy for them, really. That's what every mother wishes for. As for me, the story is a bit different. I stayed at the shelter, and today I live in a cattery. I observe a lot, I remain cautious, I move slowly, always evaluating if I can trust. The humans speak gently to me, and I sense that they want to do well... but I'm not ready to let go yet. The hands that approach still make me hesitate, and I prefer to keep my distance. I'm not an aggressive little cat, just a sensitive soul that needs time. A lot of time. I dream of a quiet home, of patient humans who will understand that I may never become a big cuddler, but that I can learn to feel safe, at my own pace, without pressure. If someone somewhere is ready to give me this chance, then maybe I can finally start to open up a little more. For now, what I need is a patient, gentle and respectful family who will accompany me without rushing me. Maybe my future home already exists, and it's waiting for me. Find Luminée on the shelter's Facebook page.

About Luminée

What life with Luminée looks like

Luminée is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luminée, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luminée?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luminée on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luminée if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luminée already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luminée isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luminée and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
