Adopt Lümmeline

Female · Young · 3 years

Lümmeline is a calm, friendly female rabbit who quickly wins hearts with her charming personality. She is very interested in everything and enjoys exploring her familiar surroundings. She is more skeptical of changes, but her curiosity prevails. She is adaptable and has adopted a Malteser as a new companion after the loss of her partner. She also finds cats intriguing and gets along well with children. The lady tips the scales at around 7 kg and is in top condition and good health. We wish Lümmeline an appropriate home with plenty of space, varied furnishings, and of course, a new rabbit friend by her side. Lümmeline is vaccinated against Myxomatosis and RHD. We want to spare our animals long journeys and hope for inquiries within a radius of up to 100 kilometers.

100 Kilometern.

About Lümmeline

What life with Lümmeline looks like

Lümmeline is a young adult rabbit waiting at Artgerecht Tierschutz e.V. in Langen.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lümmeline, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lümmeline?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Artgerecht Tierschutz e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lümmeline on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lümmeline if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Artgerecht Tierschutz e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lümmeline already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lümmeline isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Artgerecht Tierschutz e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lümmeline and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
