Luna

Female · Young · 2 years

Luna – Female Beldi, about 2.5 years old, available for adoption Luna is a young dog with deep, expressive eyes, marked by a difficult start in life yet filled with remarkable strength and joy. Born on the street, alone and vulnerable, Luna grew up in a hostile environment, facing danger and cruelty from a very early age. With no protection or guidance, she had to survive on her own before being taken in and placed in safety at the sanctuary. Despite her past, Luna is today a dog full of life, radiant and deeply lovable. Slender and elegant, of medium size, Luna has a lovely energy and a great enjoyment of life. She is playful, curious and close to people. Very intelligent, she learns quickly and is attentive. She responds well to recall and can move off-lead in a secure environment, staying connected to her human. Luna has a gentle, affectionate temperament, but also a strong personality. She can sometimes be assertive with certain females, without aggression, simply to set her boundaries. She gets along well with other dogs, cats and farm animals. She is a balanced, sensitive and expressive dog who will need an active family, able to provide regular walks, stimulation and a clear, caring structure. Luna has all the qualities of an exceptional companion: loyal, intelligent and full of life.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe in France.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
