Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік))

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

THIS IS OUR BEAUTY LUNA, ALSO CALLED LUNTIK. I FOUND THIS GIRL WHILE WALKING. SHE WAS PREGNANT AND LOOKING FOR FOOD. I STARTED ASKING LOCALS WHO THE DOG WAS AND HOW SHE GOT ON THE STREETS. IT TURNED OUT THAT SHE HAD AN OWNER WHO LOVED TO DRINK. WE AGREED THAT HE WOULD GIVE HER TO ME FOR SPAYING, AND IN RETURN I WOULD HELP WITH FOOD AND CARE SO SHE WOULD HAVE A ROOF OVER HER HEAD. I DROVE LUNA TO THE CLINIC WHERE SHE WAS SPAYED. THERE SHE SPENT TWO WEEKS IN REHABILITATION. BUT WHEN I CAME TO RETURN HER TO THE OWNER, I FOUND OUT FROM NEIGHBORS THAT HE HAD DIED. SO THIS BEAUTY ENDED UP WITH US. LUNA IS A VERY INTERESTING DOG. SHE LOVES TOYS, BUT SHE DOESN'T ALWAYS PLAY WITH THEM JUST LIKE THAT - MOSTLY SHE CHIPS THEM. SHE LOVES TO "TALK" AND VERY MUCH LOVES TO EAT. LUNA IS A LITTLE FAT, BUT THIS ONLY ADDS TO HER CHARM. SHE IS LOOKING FOR A RESPONSIBLE FAMILY WHO WILL UNDERSTAND: A DOG IS NOT FURNITURE, BUT A FULL-FLEDGED FAMILY MEMBER.

About Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік))

What life with Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)) looks like

Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Dnipro in Ukraine.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇺🇦Adopting from Ukraine

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік))?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Dnipro handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Dnipro will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Dnipro early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna (Luntik) (Луна (Лунтік)) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
