Luna ID Number: 1052300 Breed: Mixed Age: 01.08.2017 Gender: Female Shoulder height: 40 cm Neutered/Spayed: Yes Accommodation / Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Luna - a little heart's lady is looking for her home Luna (born 01.08.2017, 40cm tall and 11kg heavy) was unfortunately handed over by her former owner. At our Triple A animal shelter in Marbella, she initially lived without any problems in groups with several dogs. Her only small peculiarity was that she sometimes snapped towards the hands of the helpers during the leash training. However, as Luna grew older, she became somewhat more independent. She began to growl in various situations, chase her tail and run in circles. In October 2025, she moved to a rural foster home. She currently lives there with many dogs and cats. Although this is not the perfect living situation for her, we are sure it is much better for her than the shelter life. Luna copes quite well with this busy household, but it is clearly evident there that she would prefer to live as a single dog. Many situations trigger her, not fundamentally, but again and again. This happens, for example, when another animal walks too close to her, when a dog suddenly enters the room or when certain loud noises occur. Luna is not a dog that should be simply lifted up or cuddled continuously. However, she very much appreciates being gently stroked and being allowed to be near you. Thanks to the valuable observations of the foster home, we can prepare you precisely for her needs. Currently, there are still some veterinary appointments to medically clarify what exactly her triggers are and why she sometimes reacts unpredictably. In addition to these edges and corners, Luna also has really fantastic qualities. She walks absolutely excellently on a leash, whether in quiet nature or in the bustling city center. She rides completely relaxed in the car, lies quietly beside you in the restaurant and responds well to her name. Furthermore, she is housebroken and can be left alone for several hours without problems. Her absolute favorite activities are long sunbaths, playing with a ball and simply observing what her human is doing. We wish Luna a loving home as the sole princess, definitely without children. She needs people who give her a lot of time, respect her personal boundaries and consistently and understandingly implement the recommendations of our team! Luna is vaccinated, chipped, spayed and has an EU pet passport. Upon departure, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and is dewormed and treated for fleas. Luna ID-Nr: 1052300 Rasse: Mischling Alter: ca. 08/2017 Geschlecht: weiblich Schulterhöhe: 40 cm Kastriert/Sterilisiert: Ja Aufenthalt / Ort: Marbella (Spanien) Anfrageformular Luna – kleine Herzensdame sucht ihr Zuhause Luna (geb. About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
