Luna

Mixed Breed · Female

Our current adoptable dog might be familiar to old motorcyclists. Luna originally came to us in early 2019, was wandering in Dabas, until animal lovers took pity on him. That same summer he found a home, but after three years he came back to us, because he learned how to climb fences expertly and often used this skill to put himself in danger. Luna was born in September 2018, small in size, a love bomb with the characteristics of a Jagd terrier. Whether it's people or other dogs, he quickly becomes friends with anyone, being the lively center of parties. Due to his breed's nature, he has an extraordinary need for activity, so if you go running every day, or are looking for motivation to start, then Luna will surely be your loyal companion. Walks, hikes, games - you definitely won't get bored with Luna! If you feel that you would be the family for this little terrier girl with a big heart, affectionate and loving, please call us on the phone number. Luna also waits for interested people for a meeting walk on Saturdays in Csévharaszton, Pest county.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
