Luna

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Luna is a beautiful 8-year-old Shepherd mix who is now waiting for a second chance. She was taken into the care of our inspection service following a complaint. She had been living in poor conditions, spending most of her time alone and receiving neither walks nor social interaction. Despite this difficult past, Luna shows us every day that she’s ready to turn the page. At the shelter, she’s a pleasant, gentle, and incredibly affectionate dog. She enjoys human company and will spontaneously approach her walker when she feels safe and comfortable. Walks go smoothly, and Luna proves to be calm and well-behaved on the leash. She shows little reaction to other dogs and displays no aggression toward people. However, Luna has never been accustomed to living with other animals or with children. A gradual introduction will therefore be essential if her future family includes other pets. After years of deprivation, Luna finally deserves to experience what a real family life is all about: walks, attention, kindness, and a home where she can thrive in complete serenity.

FR·Show original

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at SRPA Liege in Srpa Liege.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SRPA Liege handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SRPA Liege will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SRPA Liege early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
