Adopt Lusi

Mixed Breed · Female

My name is Lusi. I am a few-year-old female dog who recently went through a lot of stress and uncertainty. On February 24, 2026, I ended up at the animal shelter due to an intervention - I was found tied up in front of a store on Franciszkańska 22A (Pepco/Action), where I waited... and waited... for over an hour, completely alone. Finally, out of fear and desperation, I chewed through my leash and went inside, looking for help and a person who would take care of me. Unfortunately, I was again taken out and tied up outside. I didn't have an easy start - I didn't have a microchip or basic care. I was passed from hand to hand, without a sense of security that every dog so desperately needs. Now I am at the animal shelter and I am learning to trust people again. However, I already had my first chance - I was vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas. Soon I will also have a spaying procedure, which will allow me to start a new, better life. Despite all of this, I am a gentle, sensitive girl. I very much long for closeness, warmth and my own corner, where I will never have to fear being abandoned again. Every kind word, every touch gives me hope that somewhere there is someone who will love me forever. I'm looking for a home full of patience and heart. I promise to repay you with loyalty, love and joy from each shared day. Will you be the one to give me a second chance?

Mam na imię Lusi. Jestem kilkuletnią suczką, która niedawno przeżyła sporo stresu i niepewności.24 lutego 2026 roku trafiłam do schroniska w wyniku interwencji — zostałam znaleziona przywiązana przed sklepem przy ul. Franciszkańskiej 22A (Pepco/Action), gdzie czekałam… i czekałam… ponad godzinę, zupełnie sama. Szukam domu pełnego cierpliwości i serca. Obiecuję odwdzięczyć się wiernością, miłością i radością z każdego wspólnego dnia.Czy to właśnie Ty dasz mi drugą szansę?

About Lusi

What life with Lusi looks like

Lusi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lusi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lusi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lusi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lusi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lusi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lusi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lusi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
