Lusia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Lusia – small steps, big change Lusia has been at Azorek since 02.09.2026. She came to us from the Grodzisk Wielkopolski municipality. She is a young female, around 1-2 years old, of a shepherd type. Lusia still has some work to do with humans. We are learning trust, calm contact and walking on a leash. We want to show this girl that life by the side of a human can have many beautiful sides. Lusia is very curious about the world, and this makes the beginning of learning very easy. We have already had our first walks, first petting behind the ear and small steps in building a relationship with a human. Every such moment is important to us, because we know that it is from such small steps that trust is born. Unfortunately, Lusia is emaciated, so one of our tasks is also her safe and gradual weight gain. She needs time, peace and a sense of security. At the moment, Lusia is not yet ready for adoption, but you can already get to know her and observe her progress. Maybe you will be the person who will cheer her on in this journey? If Lusia has touched your heart, contact us. Together we can show her that a human can mean not only uncertainty, but also security, care and love.

Lusia – małe kroki, wielka zmiana Lusia przebywa w Azorku od 02.09.2026 r. Trafiła do nas z gminy Grodzisk Wielkopolski. To młoda sunia, około 1–2-letnia, w typie owczarka. Potrzebuje czasu, spokoju i poczucia bezpieczeństwa.

About Lusia

What life with Lusia looks like

Lusia is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lusia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lusia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lusia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lusia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lusia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lusia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lusia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
