They grow up, remain short-legged, and one day end up in some place, abandoned, left to their own devices. They seek shelter, build a den among vines and tall grasses, and the female has her litter, protected from the cold rain and those who might take them. The short male remained alert to anyone approaching. One day, someone noticed his presence. One day, someone approached and realized the abandonment and the crying puppies. Protection came every day in the form of food and care to prevent the rain from entering the den. As days passed quickly, the puppies wanted to follow their parents' steps and it became necessary to protect them from danger. There are three little Marias and one Lusito, the brother Snoopy was already taken in by a big-hearted family. These small ones await the same luck: to be taken in by someone who adopts affection. Crescem, são baixotes, de perna curta e, um dia, ficam num qualquer lugar, abandonados, deixados à sua sorte. Procuram abrigo, constroem uma toca entre trepadeiras e ervas altas e ali a fêmea tem a sua ninhada, abrigada da chuva fria e daqueles que lha podem tirar. O macho baixote manteve-se alerta a quem se aproximasse. Um dia, alguém notou a sua presença. Um dia, alguém se aproximou e apercebeu-se do abandono e das crias que chiavam. A proteção veio todos os dias em forma de alimento e cuidados para que a chuva não entrasse na toca. Com os dias a passar velozes, as crias quiseram seguir os passos dos progenitores e foi necessário protegê-los do perigo. São três pequenas Marias e um Lusito, o mano Snoopy foi já acolhido por uma família de coração grande. Estes pequenos aguardam que tenham a mesma sorte: ser acolhidos por quem adota afetos.
