How do I contact the shelter about Luumen?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Varjupaikade MTÜ handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luumen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Luumen if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Varjupaikade MTÜ will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Luumen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Luumen isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Varjupaikade MTÜ early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luumen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Luumen

Mixed Breed · Female

Luumen-Hera, aka Hera, is a strong and dignified cat who has been living in a foster home. When she first arrived, she was called Luumen, but it was soon discovered that Hera suits her better. Hera knows her worth and carries her divine nature with true dignity. Life hasn't always been fair to her. Due to circumstances, Hera became a single mother to four little kittens. Despite the hardships, she coped wonderfully. She raised her furballs, teaching and protecting them from everything the world threw their way. Today, the furballs have grown into healthy and balanced young cats. Now it's time for Hera to experience happiness and peace. When the role of mother fell off her shoulders, her other side emerged. This strong and dignified cat has a real purring engine inside, who enjoys pets and human closeness more than one would initially think. If you take the time to win her trust, you'll get an exceptionally loyal friend. One who can be held and hugged. Hera has seen danger in other adult cats so far. Maybe life hasn't given her enough good experiences to trust them completely. However, the story is different with people. She gets along well with both big and small people. Hera is not just looking for a home. She's looking for a place where she won't have to save, raise, or protect anyone. A place where someone would finally say to her: "Now it's your turn to be taken care of." Luumen-Hera is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. If you feel that Luumen-Hera could be your new family member, fill out the application first.

Mõnel kassil on nimi. Luumenil ( ehk Heral) on iseloom. Luumen asub praegu hoiukodus, kus pererahvas kutsub teda Heraks, kuna see nimi sobib talle paremini. Teistes täiskasvanud kassides on Hera näinud siiani ohtu.

About Luumen

What life with Luumen looks like

Luumen is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Varjupaikade MTÜ in Tallinn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.
