Lydia

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten

Lydia, a little kitten, arrived at the shelter a few weeks old and in critical condition. She spent several days between life and death before being diagnosed with FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Fortunately, thanks to the good care of her caregivers, she managed to fight and overcome this terrible disease! After 3 long months of treatment and convalescence in a cage, she is finally cured! 🎉 And let me tell you, after all that time spent between four bars, I have plenty of energy! I am a little lively cat, always ready to play, run and have fun. Toys are my best friends, and I never stop! 😹 Between two wild games, I also like to enjoy good moments of cuddles and tenderness. 🥰 And I also get along with dogs! Today, I have turned the page of the disease. All I need now is a family for life! 🏡 After everything I've been through, it's time for me to discover the happiness of a real home, to run around, play at will and fall asleep warmly, surrounded by love... away from the four bars of my cage. So, who will finally offer me the beautiful life I deserve? ❤️🐾 Your little fighter, Lydia 🐱

❤️🐾 Votre petite battante, Lydia 🐱 »

About Lydia

What life with Lydia looks like

Lydia is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at S.P.A Vauclusienne in Piégon.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lydia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lydia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. S.P.A Vauclusienne handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lydia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lydia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — S.P.A Vauclusienne will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lydia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lydia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with S.P.A Vauclusienne early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lydia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
