Lylah

Cane Corso Β· Female Β· Puppy Β· 9 months

Meet Lylah, a beautiful and affectionate young Cane Corso cross with a big personality and an even bigger love of cuddles! This playful girl enjoys exploring, playing with toys and spending time with her favourite people. Although she can initially be sensitive to unfamiliar environments, she has grown in confidence during her time with us and loves nothing more than leaning in for a good fuss. In her previous home, Lylah displayed some resource guarding behaviours, particularly involving children and other dogs. She wasn't keen on sharing her home with visiting canine companions. Onsite, we've found her to be mostly playful around other dogs, but she will need ongoing guidance and support to develop her social skills. Lylah can also become very excitable, and her enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of her, including wanting to give your whole face a kiss! She's been a delight to have in kennels and certainly enjoys all the cuddles from anyone willing to give her some. Lylah is looking for an adult-only home where she can be the only dog, with owners who have experience with Cane Corsos or other guarding breeds. Her new family will need to understand the traits and needs of a young, large and bouncy dog, and be confident providing consistent, positive training and ongoing support with her behaviour. She would benefit from a quieter environment, a secure private garden and a consistent routine to help her settle and build confidence. With experienced owners who understand her needs and are committed to her ongoing training, Lylah has plenty of affection and personality to share. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Lylah, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. ch for the dog in question.

About Lylah

What life with Lylah looks like

Lylah is a large puppy cane corso dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lylah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lylah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lylah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lylah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lylah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lylah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lylah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
