Maciek

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Maciek is a roughly two-year-old male kitten. He’s very friendly toward people and fully domesticated. He gets along well with other cats and could also live with dogs. He loves to eat and even tries to sneak human food. He’s been litter-trained. Maciek is a fairly large cat—right now he’s a bit underweight, but he’ll eventually weigh around 5 kg. Maciek is microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and vaccinated. He’s had neutering surgery. His FIV/FeLV tests are negative. The kitten is currently staying in a foster home in Warsaw. We’re looking for a home where he’ll remain indoors. For adoption inquiries, please contact Klaudia at 512 237 880 or Małgorzata at 608 316 461. We want to find the best possible home for him, so we’ll ask interested applicants to fill out an adoption questionnaire: kundellos.pl/ankieta-adopcyjna/. By adopting a dog, you take responsibility for the life of a living being for the next several years. An animal is not a possession. We do not give dogs away on chains! A condition of adoption is signing an adoption agreement, covering the costs of preventive care, and agreeing to potential pre- and post-adoption visits. Another condition of adoption is having the dog spayed or neutered within an agreed-upon timeframe, provided that the procedure hasn’t already been performed.

About Maciek

What life with Maciek looks like

Maciek is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie in Józefów.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maciek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maciek?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maciek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maciek if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Maciek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maciek isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maciek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
