Madam

Female · Puppy · 2 months

Hello everyone! 🐾 Let me introduce myself: my name is Madam, I am an adorable Maremmano Shepherd mix puppy born in August 2026, and I will grow into a medium-to-large sized dog. As an adult, I am expected to weigh around 30-35 kg. My story began on the streets, where I wandered together with my mother and my two little brothers, all of us searching for food and a safe place to stay. Now I dream of finding a loving family that will care for me, protect me, and guide me as I grow up, giving me all the love I deserve. I can’t wait to find my forever home! I am currently in Italy, but for the right adoption I can travel anywhere in Europe. 👉 Fully vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for Leishmaniasis and Brucellosis, and provided with an EU pet passport – ready for a loving home! 👉 Adoption is subject to a home check, adoption fee, and adoption contract. 📝 Foster/adoption form: 📞 🇮🇹 Chiara (WhatsApp) – 🇬🇧 Chiara (WhatsApp only) – 🇩🇪 Sabrina (WhatsApp)

About Madam

What life with Madam looks like

Madam is a large puppy dog waiting at Furry Rescue Italy in Nazionale.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Madam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Madam?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Furry Rescue Italy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Madam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Madam if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Furry Rescue Italy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Madam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Madam isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Furry Rescue Italy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Madam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
