Madame Cholet

Mixed Breed Cat Β· Female Β· Young Β· 2 years

🌸🏑 Could you be Madame Cholet’s little piece of peace? 🏑🌸 Meet beautiful Madame Cholet, a sweet 1–2-year-old girl who is looking for something very special β€” a quiet place to finally feel safe. Madame Cholet came into the care of RSPCA Bluebell Ridge from a multi-cat household where sadly, many of the cats were suffering from cat flu. Thankfully, Madame Cholet showed no signs of illness herself, but her experiences have understandably left her feeling rather unsure of the world around her. This pretty girl is nervous and will need someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed. πŸ’• For Madame Cholet, settling into a new home needs to happen one tiny step at a time. She needs the time and space to become comfortable in her new surroundings before she can even begin to think about trusting the people around her. Once she feels safe, we hope that her gentle personality will slowly begin to shine through. 🏑 Madame Cholet is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with no other pets. She needs a peaceful environment where she won’t be overwhelmed, and patient adopters who will allow her to come out of her shell entirely at her own pace. She may not be the cat who runs to greet you at the door. She may hide away at first. She may need days, weeks or even longer before she feels brave enough to show you who she really is. But sometimes the most rewarding friendships are the ones you have to patiently earn. ❀️ Could you offer this sweet but timid girl a space of sanctuary and peace? Madame Cholet is waiting for someone who will see past her nerves, give her the time she needs, and show her that life can be gentle. 🌷 Scroll through the gallery of images above or click to open Not ready to adopt? About Madame Cholet

What life with Madame Cholet looks like

Madame Cholet is a very small young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Madame Cholet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Madame Cholet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Madame Cholet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Madame Cholet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Madame Cholet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Madame Cholet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex early rather than rehoming privately; they know Madame Cholet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
