adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Maddox can travel directly to his final home! His story: The fantastic package Maddox wants to celebrate life with you! Maddox is another dog without a history. And he is another four-legged friend where you wonder why?! Maddox is a Bichon-Mix, and the lively nature also carries the cute male dog. He is friendly and open, a cheerful, about four-year-old springer, who could fit well into a family with children and cats. With his cute puffy fur and the dark mask, the about 30 cm tall male dog is a small heartthrob. He is currently housed by our animal rescuer Diana Larissa in Bistrita. There, he is given dog-friendly care and enjoys the protection of the foster home, meeting people, big or small, as well as the dogs and cats with warmth. What will Maddox expect when he finally finds his own family and packs his bag for the exciting journey to a loving home? What rules for a harmonious community between two- and four-legged beings vary of course and must be adapted to the families and dogs. At the top of the tasks waiting for Maddox is house training. Also, leash walking and recall, car rides, or being alone must be practiced. Always important: Don't demand too much and put yourselves in the position of a small four-legged friend who has never known life in a house, where everything is new and where trust must be built up first. A great help are dog trainers or dog schools that positively support you and Maddox in his training. With patience, warmth, and committed consistency, you create the best prerequisites to grow into a dream team and to prove to Maddox that you mean well with him. If you would like to take the little Maddox into your midst and give the sunbeam the feeling of being surrounded, loved, and accepted, contact us through the website. Maddox is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He was named by Heike and Frank S., who thus gave him an identity. As of: 02.11.

Stand: 02.11.2024

About Maddox

What life with Maddox looks like

Maddox is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maddox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maddox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maddox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maddox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maddox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maddox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maddox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
