MAGDA

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 15 years

I'm a Staff.... I'm a Staff, so what? I'm muscular, I'm powerful, but I'm not mean. The icon par excellence of the city dog, I am only what people make of me. Idolized for a while, shown off to everyone for my "owner's" pride, only to be thrown away like an old toy once that owner's ego grew tired of me. Now I wander, soul in pain, a prisoner of my kennel, paying dearly for human stupidity. I watch the adopters parade by, wanting to do a good deed, rushing toward my other companions instead. They are smaller, so cute, and above all not victims of their bad reputations. As for me, I dream of a loving family, where I could express all my tenderness, my kindness and all my affection. In my future home, I will be the only four-legged companion present. The stress linked to my past can make me panic when loneliness shows its nose, so I will need to be reassured. Certainly my adoption requires some formalities, but when you love and have the will to make it work, it can be arranged. If you think our hearts could match, come meet me quickly, I too have the right to be loved. I'm a Staff, yes, but above all I am Magda, an American Staffordshire born in 2011 who has long dreamed of joining a loving home.

About MAGDA

What life with MAGDA looks like

MAGDA is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor in France.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting MAGDA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MAGDA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MAGDA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MAGDA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is MAGDA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MAGDA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor early rather than rehoming privately; they know MAGDA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
