Maisey

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Senior Β· 11 years

Age: 11 years Sex: Female White Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier Details: Maisey has been a beloved companion but due to her owners ill health she sadly now needs a new home. She has been with the family since she was a puppy. She has enjoyed short walks out and about locally with her elderly owner until now. She has had all the home comforts she could ever wish for and probably a few more as she is a tad overweight! 😍 She has a lovely nature with people, very friendly, loves a fuss and good with children. She walks fine out and about where there are other dogs but probably best as the only pet at home so she can enjoy all your attention. Maisey has just had a routine check up with her Vet and her health is good. Up to date with her Vaccinations, Deflea and Wormer treatments. Microchipped. Can you offer this lovely lady a loving retirement home. She has been used to a lovely garden to potter around in. More photos coming soon to show her off properly!

About Maisey

What life with Maisey looks like

Maisey is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maisey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maisey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maisey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maisey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Maisey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maisey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maisey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
