Mala Mala was found by the roadside in 2013, in a box where she had been abandoned with severe injuries. She was found to have multiple injuries: a broken tail, an injury to her right hind leg, an old injury to her left leg, and problems with bowel and bladder function. X-rays showed a spinal injury and serious damage to a paw joint. After surgery, during which screws were inserted into the joint and her tail was amputated, followed by six weeks with her leg in a cast, Mala Mala made a full recovery. Today she moves normally and her severe injuries are barely noticeable. She is a cheerful, curious, cuddly and fully socialized cat. She has lots of energy, gets along well with other cats, and her personality is a true example of how strong and positive animals can remain despite everything they have been through.
