adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Malea has found her home! Her story: Those who work in animal shelters need a thick coat and strong nerves, because we often find our charges in terrible conditions and can only guess what they have endured. So it was with Malea – the 9-week-old fragile puppy was discovered and saved with her siblings in a trash can. Currently, she is at a foster home in Romania and is being nourished and cared for by our fantastic animal welfare worker, Stefan. With a high probability, Malea will grow into a medium to large female dog and will need a forever home with appropriate movement opportunities. But first, it's all about learning the puppy ABCs. Additionally, puberty will knock on the door in a few weeks. As is often the case, commands learned earlier will likely become mixed up during this phase. Malea will probably appear a bit rebellious and lively, but don't panic: once puberty is over and Malea is an adult, the troubles will quickly dissipate, for then she will be a caramel-colored dream companion. Do you want – perhaps with your family and a confident first dog – to give the friendly, sweet Malea a nice home? She should never again remember the dark, cruel darkness of a trash can and instead be allowed to curl up in her own cozy bed. Her mini-trunk is packed. She would of course be overjoyed to join a foster home. Due to her shortened tail, she unfortunately cannot enter Switzerland. This female dog will be rehomed together with the organization Arme Hundeseelen Rumänien. The double posting on both organizations' sides and possibly on classified portals serves to increase her visibility and find her the right home more quickly. With the organization, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the female dog is directly discussed and passed on. We thank Mrs. Gabathuler once again warmly. You have given the little Malea a very beautiful and meaningful name and thus hope for love and security. Status: 05.12. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 05.12.2025

About Malea

What life with Malea looks like

Malea is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
