Mali was found by a volunteer. It lived at the doorstep of its own home, in the street, one of the most marginal areas of our city. Its owner was inside the house, not concerned about the animal, and we managed to get them to hand it over. Mali was in very poor condition and we took it to the veterinarian. It tested positive for ehrlichia, Leishmania, and had anemia. Currently, Mali is in very good health. It has been negative for Leishmania for a long time, but still takes medication to reinforce its defenses. The ehrlichia is resistant to the treatment, and we have to do periodic checks and give it medication for it. Additionally, it takes condroprotectors for its joints. It is very well-controlled and the treatment is making it very healthy.

Mali fue encontrado por una voluntaria. Vivía en la puerta de su propia casa, en la calle, es una de las zonas más marginales de nuestra ciudad. Su dueño estaba dentro de casa, sin preocuparse del animal y conseguimos que nos lo cediera. Mali estaba es muy mal estado y lo llevamos al veterinario. Dio positivo en erlichia, leishmania y tenía anemia. Actualmente Mali está muy bien de salud. Es negativo a leishmania desde hace mucho tiempo, pero sigue tomando medicación para el refuerzo de sus defensas. La erlichia se le resiste, y tenemos que hacerle controles periódicos y darle medicación para ello. Además, toma condroprotectores para las articulaciones. Está muy controlado y el tratamiento hace que esté muy bien de salud.
