adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this dog now! The little Malia is a female mixed-breed dog about five months old, currently weighing around 8.3 kg, who quickly wins hearts with her charming personality. She is initially somewhat cautious towards strangers, but once she has gained trust, her cheerful and playful personality comes out - then she becomes cheeky, funny and loves to explore the world. While walking, Malia is already making great progress: in the forest, she walks calmly and securely on a leash. In more stimulating environments, such as directly in front of the house with cars and many impressions, she is still a bit unsure and requires further loving training and patience. For Malia, we are looking for a quiet home with understanding people who will give her the time to arrive at her own pace and build trust. She likes to ride in the car and is thus a pleasant companion for trips into nature. With some attention to her signals, she is already almost housebroken. Malia knows cats and tolerates them well in the house. She feels particularly comfortable in the company of other dogs - she loves fellow animals very much, so an experienced only dog in the new home would be ideal. She also knows children and likes them, but retreats when it gets too lively. In such situations, she remains friendly and quietly observes the events. Now all she needs is a loving home where she can continue to grow and develop into a loyal companion. A visit to a puppy or dog training class would certainly be enjoyable for her and strengthen the bond between human and dog. Anyone who wants to get to know this pretty young lady may contact us. Malia is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas and has an EU pet passport by default. After a positive Many thanks to the community! You gave Malia her name! Date: 12.02. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Community! Ihr habt Malia ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 12.02.2026

About Malia

What life with Malia looks like

Malia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
