adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Malia has found a home! Her story: Malia is on the lookout for a loving home. Malia is a sweet sight with her white/black fur and her brown teddy bear eyes. Our charming Malia is a very calm and loving young female dog who loves to be with her people. Malia will be around 60 to 65 cm in size when fully grown. She is currently about 6 months old and loves to spend time with her people. She is very affectionate with her foster parents, allowing them to pet and spoil her. Malia lives in the foster home with fellow animals and also has daily contact with cats. Malia was house-trained from the start in her foster home. She walks well on a leash and travels comfortably by car. She is a little unsure of certain sounds she hasn't encountered yet, but otherwise, she adjusts well to the foster home's everyday life. Malia is very calm and loving in character, especially very laid-back. She loves to observe from the garden and simply lie on the grass to take a nap. Malia is not a dog for active people. She is not made for that. She prefers a quiet life without much fuss. Countryside, forest, and meadows are what Malia loves very much, so she is looking for a beautiful rural home. As a Mioritic mix, it is important that her people know that herding dogs are independent personalities that require a loving consequence. They have a very calm and gentle nature. Patience, understanding, and most importantly, time are the keys to building a great bond between human and dog. Malia is looking for a beautiful rural home with a large garden. It is important that Malia is included as a family member. She is not a guard dog for the property but should be an integrated family member. Malia is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can be sent to you with a positive adoption. Do you give the Fuzzy Lady a home? Many thanks, Angela! You have given Malia her charming name! Date: 17.05.

Vielen Dank Angela! Du hast Malia ihren bezaubernden Namen geschenkt! Stand: 17.05.2025

About Malia

What life with Malia looks like

Malia is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
